Barclays Capital Participates in Community Service 2009

Washington, D.C.—July 9, 2009—Today, 125 Barclays Capital employees revitalized Sunset Park in Brooklyn, New York. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves and partnered to paint six full basketball courts. A ceremony took place from 9:00-9:30am EDT with Barclays Capital executives and representatives from Partnerships for Parks.

This is Barclays Capital’s third year partnering with Partnership for Parks for the Roundtable’s community service initiative. The Roundtable's Community Service 2009 is in its eighth year and has grown exponentially since its beginning in 2002. Community Service 2009 unites member companies' efforts to improve the communities in which they work, and strengthens partnerships with non-profit partners and public policymakers. The focus of Community Service 2009 will be on financial education, with increased visibility of financial education programs in communities.

The Financial Services Roundtable represents 100 of the largest integrated financial services companies providing banking, insurance, and investment products and services to the American consumer.  Member companies participate through the Chief Executive Officer and other senior executives nominated by the CEO.
