Roundtable Applauds Resolution for Financial Literacy Month
April is Financial Literacy Month

Washington, D.C. – April 18, 2008 – The Financial Services Roundtable supports the bi-partisan congressional resolution recognizing April as “Financial Literacy Month”, introduced by Reps. Rubén Hinojosa (D-TX) and Judy Biggert (R-IL).

“This resolution supports the goals, ideas, and importance of financial education in the lives of all Americans,” said Steve Bartlett, President and CEO of The Financial Services Roundtable. “Financial education is a top priority for the industry and we will continue to reach out to the community with projects like Community Service 2008. I applaud Reps. Hinojosa and Biggert for their leadership on this important issue."

The purpose of Community Service 2008 is to increase awareness of volunteer activities of financial services employees in the communities in which they work. The focus this year is on financial education. Member companies of the Financial Services Roundtable are emphasizing the importance of financial education in their communities.

The Financial Services Roundtable represents 100 of the largest integrated
financial services companies providing banking, insurance, and investment
products and services to the American consumer. Member companies participate through the Chief Executive Officer and other senior executives nominated by the CEO.

Roundtable member companies provide fuel for America's economic engine, accounting directly for $66.1 trillion in managed assets, $1.1 trillion in revenue, and 2.5 million jobs.
